Maternity
Maternity sessions are by far my favorite photos to take. So much love and beauty within.
Since i've started my photography business i have managed to shoot quite a few of them with many more booked in for the forseeable future.
Many expecting mums may think it's not worth the time or money but i disagree. It's where it all begins!
When i was beginning photography, i was not too sure what my "signature shoots would be" and i think over time mine has certainly developed into maternity sessions. while i still love to photograph families, toddlers, children and couples and weddings, maternity feels like my specialty.
I've had many mum message me enquiring about these sessions and some a little nervous, due to the size they may have become or what they'd wear, the positions they have to pose in and or course how the photos will turn out, and all i can say is, just let your photographer worry about them things, Your job is to just show up and enjoy the experience.
I have had clients come into a session with worry and a little embarrassed but left feeling calm, confident and beautiful. We have climbed fences, shot half naked shoots or posed in postions that may have felt uncomfortable but the end result is always amazing. Clients have told me how relaxed they felt once the session had ended.
Although this also comes down to the photographer. Be paitent with your client and dont force them to do something they are uncomfortable with, always ask if its ok to adjust a part of their clothing, if they are comfortabe t with a position you may be putting them in and just have fun with it. Assure them that they are doing a great job, because it can become tiring.
I hope to shoot many more of these sessions in the future. If your expecting or know of someone who is, feel free to contact me with any enquires you may have. You will not regret a maternity session, but you may regret it if you dont have one done.
