A WORLD OF CHILDREN
Every client I've photographed with children most often express their concern within their sessions.
They tell me they are sorry when the child will not sit still, or they may seem embarrassed and apologetic because the little one may not listen or be co operating. The parents in the beginning may be a little stressed or uneasy as this is the day they are hoping to capture memories and that "perfect" family portrait.
Of course we all want that perfect photo but in reality what we want and what we get can be 2 different things. I say don't be worried and just go with it. relax and just enjoy the experience. I'ts our job to capture that shot you are seeking and understandably it takes patience perseverance.
I try to connect with every family i photograph and to this day every single family, couple and child i have encountered and met have been the upmost pleasure to work with. Some sessions are more difficult than others and some are very relaxed and laid back, but to me EVERY session is enjoyable and a complete success.
Working with children is not an easy gig and I'm sure most photographers will agree that not all images that are taken, need be the perfect still portrait where everyone is looking and smiling.
I have taken many photos since starting up my little business and every session is different. Some of the best photographs taken are of a child just playing, interacting and doing their own thing, maybe even having a bit of a tantrum. This is because that is what life is all about, its about feelings, moods, expression and just living in that moment, whether happy or sad, grumpy or excited. Capturing a child at any of them moments is just as precious as the perfect posed image, sometimes even BETTER..
I love photographing children of any age, their playfulness, mannerism and personalities astound me.
I had one little girl that wanted more cuddles from me than her own parents and she was just adorable. i'ts moments like that that make me love my job even more.
My advise to all future clients, just go into your session open minded and have fun with it. The photographer knows how little ones can be so we go into fully aware that they may play up but are well prepared to deal with any or these issues, we are patient, and considerate. Never to over work or overwhelm the child, give them their space when needed and do not force them to pose a way they are not comfortable with because your just setting yourself up for disaster..
