BABY ON BOARD
This blog will begin with honesty and quite honestly this was my first professional maternity session. While my client herself was a little nervous i was completely confident knowing that i was going to absolutely smash this session (in which i did).
The day was not the nicest and the weather was not quite on our side, windy, cold but somewhat sunny my mummy to be braved it all in a lace ensemble and a beautiful flowing dress, just completely rocking her bump.
Bree became more confident with the help of my guidance and reassurance. She done a fantastic job and the end results were superb..
I went in with an open mind on maternity sessions and it has turned out to be one of my favourite of all.
As a mum myself i am completely in love with babies and the miracle of life, its something about knowing that a tiny human is growing inside a person that makes it so fascinating, an experience that i believe all woman should be able to posses and remember.
Maternity photos are not for everyone. Some woman are shy, have body issues and are just plain worried of what others may think of there growing body housing precious cargo. I completely respect their feelings as i was one of those mums myself, I had stretch marks on my side and was worried of people thinking i was "too large" but after over coming my own body issues i've come to realise that we are all different in shape and size and most importantly we are all unique. I myself regret not documenting my pregnancies and wish i had of undergone a maternity session but because of the lack of respect for my own body and worried what the photographer might be thinking i gave it a miss. I will be in the future however definitely arranging myself a maternity session for my next bub when it happens.
My advise to mums and mums to be, embrace your body and love every part of it. Every curve, every stretch mark and every kilo you may be gaining because what you are carrying inside is a blessing and the ultimate gift, one that should be captured, photographed and documented to remember forever. dont worry about what others may think, you can organise a private session within your home or a lifestyle shoot. you may wish for other to see your photos or have your own private collection.
overall just be comfortable in your own skin and most definitely consider a maternity session as i can assure you that you will not regret it, if you dont capture your journey you just might..
